The Camano Center offers a wide range of activities for community members who want to stay active and have fun.
We take dozens of day trips every year to a wide variety of destinations. We also offer our monthly “Essentials” shopping trips, where senior who no longer drive are given free transportation to Lakewood Crossing in Smokey Point.
We have special presentations most months, including vision screenings, hearing screenings, blood drives, and meetings covering senior issues and caregiver concerns.
Cards and other games abound at the Center. Duplicate and Party Bridge, Pinochle, Hand and Foot Canasta, and Mah Jongg are perennial favorites.
Our house band ‘Camano Junction’ plays big band music for dances most months, including our Annual Valentine’s and Halloween Dances, and for our wonderful Annual New Year’s Eve Black & White Ball.
Concerts include our ‘Jazz at the Center’ Series, and other special presentations.
Book Club, Handcrafters, Needlework, Watercolors, and the Creative Writing group are popular, as is our Down-to-Earth Gardeners group, which helps maintain the grounds at the Center.
We have many classes at the Center.
Health and Fitness offerings include Aerobics for the Older Adult, Senior Tennis, Body Basics for Seniors, T’ai Chi, several Yoga classes, and Zumba Fitness and Zumba Gold.
Special Interest Classes include an AARP Safe Driving Course, Chinese Culture, Computer Classes, French Class, and Travel Talk.
Art and Creativity classes include Acrylic Painting, Culinary Arts Society, and a couple of Quilting Groups.
