Medical Equipment

Helping You Stay Safe, Mobile, and Independent. The Camano Center is proud to offer Medical Equipment Lending Closets—a free service providing gently used medical equipment to community members who need temporary or long-term assistance at home. Whether you're recovering from surgery, managing an injury, or living with mobility challenges, our equipment closets can help you stay safe, comfortable, and independent.

Available Equipment

Our inventory changes based on donations and availability, but often includes items such as:

  • Walkers
  • Wheelchairs
  • Canes
  • Crutches
  • Shower chairs
  • Raised toilet seats
  • Bedside commodes
  • Other durable medical equipment

All equipment is provided at no cost. We kindly ask that when you no longer need the items—and they are still in good working condition—you return them so others can benefit as well.

How to Borrow Equipment

We offer three equipment closets.

  • One located inside the Camano Center with staff available to assist you Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm.
  • Another located outside at the back of the building under the lean-to, available for self-service 24/7.
  • A third lending closet is available at our 2nd Chance Thrift Shop during business hours: Wednesday–Saturday, 10:00 am–4:00 pm.

How to Donate Equipment

Thank you for supporting the Camano Center and helping us serve our community with dignity and care! We gratefully accept donations of gently used medical equipment to help keep our closets stocked for those in need. Before donating, please review our donation guidelines to ensure we can accept your items.

All donated items must be clean and in good working order. Items that are dirty, broken, or unusable add to our dump expenses and cannot be accepted, and impact our non-profit mission, so your careful consideration is greatly appreciated. Your generosity helps neighbors remain independent and maintain their quality of life during times of need. Thank you for supporting this valuable community service!
