Kathy Sanchez

Kathy and Steve discovered Camano Island unexpectedly, while on a trip to the San Juan Islands with their daughters and families. Within a few months and a natural glide into retirement for Steve, they jumped at the opportunity for a move from Montana to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren!

Kathy’s professional background began in the public school system, where she taught special needs students for ten years. She then began her career as a Financial Advisor, and after 19 years, continues that work today. Kathy is a graduate of Montana State University with a Degree in Business Management.

Looking for volunteer opportunities, Kathy learned of the “gem” right in her back yard, that we all know as the Camano Center! The more she learned the more she fell in love with the Mission of the organization and immediately jumped in. She has been on the Board of Directors for the past two years, and has largely been involved in the indoor/outdoor beautification projects. Connecting with people and connecting them to others has always been a mission of her own, which is why the Camano Center is the perfect place to be, according to Kathy!

Nothing brings more joy to Kathy than spending time with their daughters and families, who live in and near Seattle. And with them, they have discovered the PNW to be quite a treasure while enjoying boating excursions from the north sound to the south sound; hiking; camping; wine tasting; operas; concerts, canoe journeys and attending little gyms with their young grandson. With any spare time, you will likely find Kathy digging in her landscape or chasing sunsets!
