Do you love working outdoors and have a passion for keeping spaces beautiful and welcoming? Helping to maintain our garden beds and trails, is an important way of creating a warm, inviting environment for our visitors, members, and event guests. Whether it is for a casual visit, Center program, event, or rentals, the appearance of our grounds sets the tone for the experience.
What You Will Do
- Help maintain garden beds and trails by weeding, pruning, raking, and more.
- Work with other volunteers during scheduled work parties throughout the year (spring, summer, and fall) or come in on your own schedule for smaller maintenance tasks.
- Assist in ensuring our grounds are ready to welcome visitors and look their best for Center events and rentals.
Necessary Skills:
- A willingness to help and enjoy the outdoors.
- Ability to stand for extended periods or work on your knees in garden beds.
- Basic understanding of plants vs weeds (we will guide you if you are unsure).
- No gardening experience? No problem. If you love nature and want to learn, we can help you get started.
Additional Details
- Location: The Camano Center
- Projects are weather-dependent.
- We have some gardening tools, but most volunteers bring their favorite tools.
- Wear outdoor gardening clothes and wear sturdy shoes.
