Looking for a fulfilling way to give back to your community? Join our Meals on Wheels team. Operated under Island Senior Resources, our Camano Island section is supported by dedicated local volunteers, with meals prepared at the Camano Center. As a delivery driver, you will ensure that residents receive nutritious meals.
What You Will Do
- Deliver meals once a week on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday.
- Pick up meals and return empty hot/cool bags to the Camano Center.
- Serve a designated route on either the north end, central, or south end.
- Provide a vital service that supports the health and well-being of community members.
Back-Up Substitute Drivers
- Back-up drivers are always needed.
- If you cannot commit to a regular weekly route, consider signing up as a substitute driver.
- Back-up drivers fill in when regular drivers are unavailable making your help just as essential to the success of the program.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A working and insured vehicle.
- A love for driving and helping others with their nutrition needs.
- A desire to give back to the community.
- A Washington State Patrol background check.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
Additional Information
- Mileage reimbursement is available.
- Routes are efficient and take about 1.5 hours to complete.
- All meals are picked up and supplies are dropped off at the Camano Center.
